We are a small family owned business based out of Elk, WA. As first generations farmers, we headed to the mountains to homeschool our children, take control over our food, and eventually go on to start two successful business. While business ownership was not the initial goal, family and work values lead us to this lifestyle and we wouldn’t have it any other way!

Scotty’s primary background was as a millwright, specializing in hydroelectric, and working most of his millwright career at Grand Coulee dam. While he loved the work, he hated seeing the government waste. The burden of traveling increased year by year, along with the number of kids and farm chores.

While homeschooling our children, we wanted them to learn to think out of the box of the current system, and how they could be in business for themselves, rather than slaves to the system. The reality was, if we wanted to teach it, we needed to walk it. Which has lead us here.

Now Scotty never works a day in his life, as running equipment has been a life long dream. As a boy, he played endlessly with his metal CAT toys outside, moving ‘logs’ (sticks) and still has many of these treasured toys today. Of course they don’t make them like they used to. But the joy felt running in the woods all day still remains, making this the perfect career choice. It’s scary to take the leap, but so worth it!
